Assistant/Associate Professor in MRI
The Brain Imaging and Analysis Center (BIAC) at Duke University is inviting applications for a tenure-track MR Physicist at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor, with a particular emphasis on functional brain imaging. The start date is expected to be September 1, 2007. Candidates should meet the following requirements:
- PhD or equivalent in Physics and Engineering fields.
- Extensive knowledge in MR physics and engineering principles.
- Prior experience with pulse programming experience.
- Track record of peer-reviewed publications and external funding.
- Evidence of the ability to establish an independent research program.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
BIAC is a university resource center whose faculty and staff members are engaged in innovative research projects concerning improved acquisition and analysis methodology and applications to neuroscience. BIAC currently houses three scanners - a 3T whole-body, a 4T whole-body, and a 7T/31cm animal MRI scanner - all fully dedicated to research. A 7T whole-body scanner is budgeted within our strategic expansion plan. Complementary to our imaging hardware is a dedicated high-speed network infrastructure that includes an extensive computational facility.
