Functional Changes in the Apparent Diffusion Coefficient at 4T
C. R. Michelich1, J. R. MacFall2
Functional changes in the apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) were observed using an interleaved diffusion weighted sequence (b = 300 and 1570 sec/mm2) on a 4T MR system. The radial flashing checkerboard stimulus (8 Hz) elicited a mean ADC decrease of 3.29% in three subjects’ most significant voxel clusters. The observed results corroborate those seen in a recent study at 1.5T. Additional optimization of acquisition parameters and stimulation design is needed in future work to improve the utility of this method.
