I am running a study in which sounds are panned slightly to one side or the other. In several usertests that we have done recently, the sounds seem consistently louder on the right. We have tested the sounds in the lab and they seem to be fine. Is there any way to test whether the sounds are equally loud on both sides?
you could have to bring the headphones out into the scanner console room and check them with a decimal meter ( i think there is one in the cabinet at BIAC5, the techs should know ). If one is louder than the other, they are independently adjustable through the tech-remote
also, keep in mind there could be other factors like ear plug fit, subject hearing in different ears, etc, etc ... So hopefully there will be some sort of calibration done on a per subject basis
